Mid Penn Bank recently raised $100,000 for the Pennsylvania Breast Cancer Coalition and the American Cancer Society through its fourth annual Celebrity Golf Tournament for Charity. The event included a pairings party at Hollywood Casino at Penn National Race Course on June 10 followed by the golf tournament at Colonial Country Club in Harrisburg on June 11.

Sports and media celebrity guests who were in attendance included Ron Jaworski, Seth Joyner, Merril Hoge, Michael Vick, Bill Bergey, Gerald Henderson Sr., Beasley Reese, Jake Bergey, Ben Davis, Jim Nelson and many others.

The $100,000 donation was announced at the pairings party. The bank provided $60,000 to the Pennsylvania Breast Cancer Coalition, an organized statewide non-profit designed to extend public awareness of breast cancer, and to encourage increased public and private funding for research, legislative advocacy and high quality screening, diagnosis and treatment. The American Cancer Society northeast region received $40,000 from the bank.

“We are proud to support two incredibly worthy organizations through Mid Penn Bank’s largest annual fundraising event,” said Mid Penn Bank President and CEO Rory G. Ritrievi. “We doubled the amount that was raised at last year’s event while also delivering a premiere golf tournament to those in attendance. We are grateful to our sponsors, celebrity guests, employees and many others who made this two-day event a huge success.”

Mid Penn Bank is strongly committed to supporting charitable organizations through various means, including corporate donations, employee volunteerism and fundraising. An independent community bank since 1868, Mid Penn regularly contributes to causes including health and human services, community improvement and education.
