Challenge programMillersburg, Pa., October 11, 2023 — Mid Penn Bank (the “Bank”), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Mid Penn Bancorp, Inc. (“Mid Penn”) (Nasdaq: MPB), is proud to sponsor a year-long student initiative with nonprofit organization, The Challenge Program, Inc. (“The Challenge Program”). The organizations hosted a kickoff event for high schoolers at Clearfield Area High School on October 10.

Matt Dotts, information security awareness officer of the Bank and Clearfield native, gave a presentation to each grade challenging the students in five key workforce habits and explained how each habit contributes to success in school and in future careers. He also facilitated a question-and-answer session with students. Following the student assemblies, an award presentation was held. Finally, representatives of the Bank, including Mid Penn Director Maureen Gathagan, presented The Challenge Program with a donation of $10,000.

“I am thrilled that these organizations are working together to educate young people and to help them prepare for life beyond high school, and I am proud to support groups that place an emphasis on giving back to the community,” Gathagan said. “Mid Penn Bank has a rich history of doing this and The Challenge Program continues to make a difference in the lives of the students who participate in the program.”

The partnership between the Bank and The Challenge Program seeks to motivate high school students to develop the habits required to succeed in school and in their careers by building business and education partnerships. In the coming year, students will learn about banking and the paths to training and education for a career in the financial services industry. At the end of the year, awards will be presented to 15 students who have demonstrated growth, improvement, and achievement in The Challenge Program’s five award categories.
