MID PENN BANK DONATES $100,000 TO PA BREAST CANCER COALITION
Mid Penn Bank (the “Bank”), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Mid Penn Bancorp, Inc. (“Mid Penn”) (Nasdaq: MPB), is proud to announce its continued partnership with the PA Breast Cancer Coalition (“PBCC”). On October 7, Mid Penn Bank President and CEO and PBCC Board Member Rory Ritrievi spoke at the organization’s annual Pink Fountain Event at the Pennsylvania State Capitol and presented the coalition with a $100,000 donation from funds raised through the 2025 Mid Penn Bank Celebrity Golf Classic, which took place in July.
The annual event marked the start of Breast Cancer Awareness Month and brought together lawmakers, survivors, community leaders, and supporters to highlight the importance of early detection and accessible screenings. Each year, the PBCC turns the Capitol’s East Wing Fountain pink as a symbol of hope for those affected by breast cancer and as a reminder of the ongoing need for research, advocacy, and support. The event served to reaffirm PBCC’s mission of “finding a cure for breast cancer now, so our daughters don’t have to.”
“More than 13,000 women in Pennsylvania are diagnosed with breast cancer every year, and behind every one of those cases is a family, a community, and a story,” Ritrievi said. “The PA Breast Cancer Coalition continues to make a meaningful impact on those stories through outreach, advocacy, and research that bring hope and progress in the fight for a cure.”
Since its founding, the PBCC has contributed more than $6 million to researchers in Pennsylvania and has championed legislation to expand screening and treatment for women with breast cancer. The organization also provides vital support, education, and resources to those newly diagnosed.
This year marked the 10th year the Bank has supported the PBCC through its annual Celebrity Golf Classic. The event brought together celebrities, sponsors, and community members in a shared effort to raise awareness and funding for breast cancer research and advocacy. During the tournament, volunteers took part in Project Pink, a hands-on initiative supporting the PBCC’s Friends Like Me program. Together, they packed 200 care packages filled with comfort items and resources for women newly diagnosed with breast cancer. Over the past five years, Project Pink volunteers have assembled 1,000 boxes, complementing PBCC’s statewide efforts and helping extend the program’s reach to even more women across Pennsylvania.
