MID PENN BANK DONATES $100,000 TO PENN MEDICINE’S BASSER CENTER FOR BRCA

Posted on Nov 10th, 2025

Millersburg, Pa., November 10, 2025 — Mid Penn Bank (the “Bank”), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Mid Penn Bancorp, Inc. (“Mid Penn”) (Nasdaq: MPB), is proud to continue its support of the Basser Center for BRCA at Penn Medicine (“Basser Center”) with a $100,000 donation. On October 29, Mid Penn Bank President and CEO Rory Ritrievi presented the organization with the donation during a check presentation with Basser Center representatives Kevin Mahoney and Dr. Payal Shah. The contribution was made possible through funds raised during the 2025 Mid Penn Bank Celebrity Golf Classic, which took place in July.

The Basser Center for BRCA is the first comprehensive center dedicated to the research, treatment, and prevention of BRCA-related cancers. These hereditary mutations significantly increase lifetime risks for breast, ovarian, pancreatic, prostate, and melanoma cancers. The Basser Center’s research focuses on improving treatment options for the most aggressive and hard-to-treat forms of cancer, while advancing early detection, prevention, and education for at-risk individuals and families.

“Men and women with BRCA gene mutations face greater risks for several forms of cancer, but through its groundbreaking research and advocacy, the Basser Center is helping to change that,” Ritrievi said. “We are proud to support their work and the lasting impact it has on patients, families, and future generations.”

Through Mid Penn Bank’s support, the Basser Center continues research that deepens the understanding of hereditary cancers and identifies new paths for treatment. The funding helps expand studies on aggressive breast cancer subtypes and supports researchers working to translate scientific discoveries into patient care.

The Mid Penn Bank Celebrity Golf Classic, now in its 10th year, brings together celebrities, sponsors, and community members in a shared effort to raise awareness and funding for breast cancer research and advocacy. This year marks the fourth year the Bank has raised funds for the Basser Center through its Golf Classic. The tournament also supports the PA Breast Cancer Coalition and Cooper University Health Care Foundation in helping advance critical research, education, and outreach programs that improve the lives of those affected by cancer.
