Millersburg, Pa. – August 20, 2025. Mid Penn Bank (the “Bank”), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Mid Penn Bancorp, Inc. (“Mid Penn”) (NASDAQ: MPB), recently hosted 22 high school students at its Camden financial center for an immersive site visit as part of the Future Bankers and Financial Professionals Camp. The visit gave students firsthand exposure to banking operations, cybersecurity and community impact, experiences that counted toward fulfilling their program requirement and moving them closer to earning industry-recognized certifications.

Led by the Center for Financial Training, the Future Bankers and Financial Professionals Camp is a multiweek, industry-driven summer program that prepares students, particularly those from low- to moderate-income communities, for careers in financial services. Through a blend of academic instruction, real-world learning and partnerships with various financial institutions, students gain practical experience, mentorship, and where applicable, the opportunity to earn college credit. Now in its 19th year, the program operates in four states and is supported by more than 50 financial institutions.

Future BankersAt the site visit, students were welcomed by Jeff Steigerwalt, Delaware Valley regional president at Mid Penn Bank, who introduced them to the Bank’s structure and commercial lending operations. Matt Dotts, information security awareness officer at Mid Penn Bank, followed with an overview of cybersecurity and the role of risk management in banking. Students then heard from Mid Penn Bank employees Ryan Thompson, regional CRA officer; Megan Gothel, senior community impact officer; and Danielle Bostjancic, community impact project support specialist. After sharing insight into their respective departments, the team led a hands-on service project where students assembled backpacks filled with school supplies for donation to the Camden Dream Center.

“Bringing students into the Bank and giving them real exposure to our work is one of the most meaningful ways we can invest in the future of our industry,” Steigerwalt said. “Through hands-on experience and industry-recognized credentials, students gain the confidence and preparation needed to pursue careers in banking and financial services.”

The camp concluded with a graduation ceremony on August 1 at Rowan University, where students earned industry-recognized credentials, including the American Bankers Association Banker Teller Certificate and Customer Service Representative Certificate.
