Mid Penn Bank Trust Accounts Contribute $111,550 in Scholarships to Local High School Graduates

Mid Penn Bank is announcing that 24 high school graduates were awarded a total of $111,550 in scholarships from trust accounts established through the bank. The recipients were 2019 graduates of Millersburg Area High School, Upper Dauphin Area High School and Line Mountain Area High School.

The Allen F. Gilbert Trust Scholarship Fund provided $19,800 in scholarships. To qualify for the scholarship, recipients must currently attend Millersburg Area High School and must be pursuing further education.

The Williamson Family Educational Trust Fund provided $66,000 in general education scholarships. Preference is given to those entering the nursing or medical profession fields, however, anyone was able to apply.

The Gilbert and Williamson scholarship recipients are as follows: Taylor Bowman, Zane Mowery, Bryar Caprio, Megan Paul, Hailey Etzweiler, Connor Zimmerman, Lindsay Hepner, Dylan Shaffer, Anya Watts, Montana Behrendt, Benjamin Briggs, Joshua Rothermal, Gage Stone, Noah Koppenhaver, Nathn Oakes, Isaac Shutt, Morgan Shaffer, Lacy Strait, Marleigh Hoover, and Jace Lauder.

The Harold N. and Thelma G. Lenker Millersburg Community Trust provided $5,000 in scholarships. Preference is given to those with the greatest financial needs and highest grades. The recipients are as follows: Hailey Etzweiler, Anya Watts, Montana Behrendt, Isaac Shutt, and Jace Lauder.

The Anna Mae Forney Scholarship Fund provided $18,750 in scholarships. The scholarship is given to qualified students who reside in the Borough of Lykens who have demonstrated academic excellence and the ability to lead and succeed. The recipients are as follows: Christopher Woodward and Destin Snyder.

The Donald & Joan Zerbe Scholarship Fund provided $2,000 in scholarships. Qualifications include being a graduate from Line Mountain Area High School and pursuing higher education in the business field. The recipients are as follows: Marissa Campbell and Morgan Keim.

All five trust accounts were established by Northern Dauphin County residents wanting to provide educational opportunities to young people of the community. Recipients are selected based on the criteria outlined by each trust account.
