MID PENN BANK’S WOMEN’S LEADERSHIP NETWORK HOSTS EMPOWER EVENT

Posted on Apr 6th, 2023

Mid Penn Bank (the “Bank”), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Mid Penn Bancorp Inc. (“Mid Penn”) (NASDAQ: MPB), hosted its second annual Women’s Leadership Network (“WLN”) Empower event at the West Shore Country Club on March 28. The full-day event brought together female leaders throughout the region to attend professional development seminars and participate in discussion groups on topics affecting women in business.

Guests chose which sessions were best suited to their career goals and personal interests from a range of subjects such as leadership, diversity and inclusion, health and wellness, media relations, and financial planning. Duck Donuts CEO Betsy Hamm delivered an inspiring keynote presentation, sharing her concept of a “circle of success” that each individual can draw from to reach her personal goals, and led a question-and-answer session following her speech.

“We are thrilled to gather this exceptional group of women to share ideas and learn from area leaders,” Director of Insurance and Risk Management and WLN President Julie Webb said. “To make a direct impact on the female leaders in the communities that the Bank serves is a meaningful endeavor that we will continue to embrace in the years ahead.”

A highlight of the event was honoring Kyla Harvey, executive director of Shalom House and a trailblazer in her field, with a donation of $5,000 to Shalom House on behalf of the Bank. Shalom House is an organization in Harrisburg that provides housing and support for women and children facing homelessness. Additional donations were made thanks to the generous support of the attendees. Ms. Harvey shared with the crowd the mission of Shalom House and a success story of one of the women that her organization supported.
