Team Member Spotlight: Jodi Bezanilla
What inspired you to pursue this career?
I was working in a different industry when a banker I knew recruited me and encouraged me to apply for a management trainee position at another bank. I was intrigued by the opportunity and decided to go for it. That was 20 years ago!
What was your first job ever? Any lessons from it you still use today?
My first job was at a gift shop in our local mall. I loved this job. It allowed me to be creative with displays and gave me my first experience working with the public and with coworkers. A lesson I learned from my manager was to treat customers and coworkers the way you would expect to be treated. If you provide kindness, you will receive kindness.
What’s the most rewarding part of your job?
The most rewarding part of my current job is being able to provide new services or account options to new and existing customers that help improve their banking program. This may include adding an efficiency through a new service, improving their fraud-protection program, or increasing their return on funds. When a new customer is happy with their switch to MPB, I am truly happy.
What’s one fact people might not know about you?
I am the youngest of nine children.
What’s the best piece of advice you’ve ever received?
Always do what you think is right.
